HSP Behaviour Consulting collaborates with educational institutions and has worked closely with many schools across the lower mainland to provide school support services for students on the autism spectrum.

Collaboration is essential to ensure the fluidity of learning and generalized success of any intervention program. Consistency across learning environments plays a significant role in effective intervention and is fundamental to a successful ABA program.

In BC, children and adolescents with autism may be eligible for a variety of school-based learning support services. For example, students may be provided with a Special Education Assistant (SEA) who can further support learning across the day, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to identify supplemental goals and objectives, and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) services to support language development. For caregivers, navigating through these services and advocating for appropriate implementation can be a major challenge. HSP-BC works closely with families and educators to help bridge the gap between home and school. We provide families with education and support in how they can effectively advocate for their child, we provide assistance with identifying and developing meaningful IEP goals, we help educators accurately monitor progress using behaviour analytic measurement procedures, and we provide training opportunities for the educators who work directly with your child.
